Xi Gui (昔归) Ancient Tree Raw Pu’er Tea
Manglu Mountain, Lincang | 2024 Harvest
Xi Gui, located in the Manglu Mountain range of Lincang, Yunnan, is renowned for its pristine environment and centuries-old tea trees. Nestled within biodiverse forests, these ancient trees are grown without chemical fertilizers or pesticides, preserved for generations by devoted local farmers.
Aroma & Taste
The liquor offers a bright floral-fruity aroma and a bold yet refined cha qi (tea energy). Smooth and full-bodied on the palate, its delicate mouthfeel and deep layers of flavor persist across many infusions. Expect lingering sweetness, salivation, and a lasting fragrance in both mouth and nose.
Traditional Craftsmanship
- Picking: Hand-harvested in the early morning and delivered to the workshop by noon
- Withering: Naturally withered in ventilated air to reduce moisture and enhance aroma
- Shaqing (Kill-Green): Pan-fried by hand at high heat to halt oxidation
- Rolling: Carefully twisted into strips to release inner compounds
- Drying: Moisture controlled for stability and optimal aging potential
Dry Leaf Appearance
Tightly rolled dark green to black leaves, with visible silver buds — a signature of well-crafted gushu (ancient tree) tea, full of life and potential for aging.
🌿 Recommended For:
Pu’er collectors, experienced drinkers, and those seeking an authentic gushu experience with strength, elegance, and aging potential.
