Cha Zhi Ji Wuyi Rock Tea – Bai Sui Xiang (百岁香)
Bai Sui Xiang, or “Hundred-Year Fragrance,” is a rare and legendary Wuyi Rock Tea cultivar, originally discovered in the cliffs of Huiyuan Rock, where the characters “百岁香” are engraved. With a lineage spanning centuries, the mother tree is said to be hundreds of years old, nourished by the essence of the mountains and the passing of time.
🌿 A Tea with History
This ancient varietal has survived generations of landscape changes and now stands as one of the oldest and most treasured tea trees in Wuyi. Sourced from the Zhengyan core area, our Bai Sui Xiang is handpicked and crafted using traditional methods, followed by multiple rounds of charcoal roasting for a refined finish.
🌸 Aroma & Taste
The dry leaves give off a fragrant floral-fruity scent, reminiscent of Rou Gui at first sniff, then evolving into the crisp freshness of Tie Luo Han. A hint of bamboo leaf sweetness and glutinous aroma rounds out the bouquet. Upon brewing, a strong floral aroma bursts forth, with notes of ripe fruit and cinnamon subtly emerging underneath.
🍵 Tea Liquor
The liquor is deep red, rich and smooth, filling the mouth with lingering sweetness. The texture is clean yet full-bodied, leaving a long-lasting, elegant rock rhyme. The yellow-green leaves with red edges are a classic sign of well-roasted Wuyi Oolong.
