This Lao Shu (Old Tree) Shou Pu-erh from Cha Zhi Ji’s Chang Yu Hao line is made from tender buds and leaves of century-old tea trees grown deep in the unpolluted mountains of Yunnan. The trees’ deep root systems allow them to absorb rich underground minerals, resulting in a tea with natural intensity and depth.
The leaves are fermented using traditional wo dui (渥堆) techniques. The result is a full-bodied tea liquor with thick texture, balanced bitterness, fast salivation, and a long, sweet finish. Its character is distinctly bold, warming, and satisfying.
Two vintages available:
- 2017: Naturally grown, aged to a rich, mellow depth (not certified organic)
- 2021: Certified organic, fresh and full-bodied with sweet floral notes
